On 26 September we launched the new Act to Adapt report, highlighting the challenges that people with MND face when it comes to living independently and safely in their own homes. The report sets out a range of recommendations to improve the current situation and includes examples of good practice from across the country demonstrating what can be achieved.
The report is the result of an extensive research project carried out in 2018, which saw the Association consult with 850 people, including our volunteers and those living and affected by MND. Thank you to all our everyone who took part. For people with MND, getting the home adaptations they need quickly and easily is vital to ensure they can live safely, independently, and with dignity in the time that remains to them. We are calling on national and local governments to develop a faster and fairer system to ensure adaptations happen in a timely, efficient manner with minimum impact on people with MND and their families.
